Flora & Fauna

Apuseni National Park is a true oasis for nature lovers who appreciate rare wildlife sightings.

A considerable number of endangered animal species including bears, wolves, bison, lynx, make their home on these mountainsides. Relatively small population densities and limited access to many areas of the mountains are why this rich and diverse fauna have not only survived, but thrived for us to enjoy today.

Even more prolific than the animal life are the plants, which total over 4,000 species. This flora accounts for 30% of all European plant life with over 200 unique species found here but nowhere else in the entire world.
